This is actually a review of Steinmetz Property Management. I turned over management to Donna in the late 1990’s, and at the time, it seemed like it was a good decision. Long story short, I have had to terminate our relationship due to the fact that my property was allowed to be run down severely and is now the biggest eyesore in the neighborhood, and of course the long term renters were evicted. I have driven by the house in the past and noticed landscape and other issues (roof in disrepair, rotted wood, torn window screens, broken fence, a walkway lantern hanging off the wall by the wiring, Xmas lights still up in October) and mentioned them all but most of these issues were either not addressed, or poorly repaired, or not repaired in a timely manner. I was shocked to actually enter the house to discover damaged drywall, broken closet doors and light fixtures, etc., and am currently gutting the entire inside of the house…removing ruined kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, carpets, etc. Two palm trees were allowed to root and I had to pay to have them taken out, the palm tree by the pool large enough to damage the pool plumbing to the extent that I am now paying to have the concrete saw-cut to repair the drain and suction system, and also will pay to repair the fence around the pool due to damage by the palm tree and the tenants. I don’t expect a rental property to remain in pristine condition year after year, but I also don’t expect have horrific tenants being allowed to ruin my house. It is obvious there were never any inspections on a regular basis and this property manager simply collected my management fees and had absolutely no concern for the maintenance of my property.
